以前,我们经常会在课本上看到这一句「马来西亚是个得天独厚的国家,常年高温多雨……」 的確,位于赤道的大马没有火山、没有地震,也没有颱风等严重破坏的天灾,但这种得天独厚近年来似乎就快成了过去式。不仅如此,「高温多雨」的气候也变得更加极端。 原本就已高温的天气,经常变得更加酷热了,户外的艷阳晒了皮肤有种犹如撕裂的灼伤感。酷热难耐的天气,让人期待天降甘露来降温,但又忧心一雨成灾。相信不少人对这种矛盾非常熟悉吧? 我们很多人都知道,这就是所谓的「温室效应」。但你知道吗?现在的温室效应已经让这个我们居住的地方变成了一个「热室地球」(Hothouse Earth)!很多专家预测:如果气温再攀升2摄氏度,地球就可能变成一个巨大的「热室」,引发一系列灾难性的变化。 这並非危言耸听,而是我们每一天都在感受、体验与经歷的恐怖事情:我们的地球在慢慢地死亡,而罪魁祸首正是被称为「万物之灵」的人类! 並非事不关己 或许,你也曾阅读过类似的新闻:冰川融化、北极熊失去棲身之所、海平面上升、岛国沉没……这些似乎都是遥不可及与事不关己的新闻,而且对我们没有切身之痛,难以感同身受。 那你感受到现在的气候更炎热了吗?发生水灾的次数是不是更频密了?那你仍然觉得自己能在这个「热室地球」置身事外吗? 眾所周知,地球是圆的,所以温室效应对我们的伤害是牵一髮动全身,也是无人所能避免的。联合国在2018年杪提出,若要遏制气候变化,1.5摄氏度是个標桿,而这个刻度只需要12年就会被超越,也就是2030年! 联合国政府间气候变化专门委员会(IPCC)公佈了一份「0.5摄氏度」特別报告,强调把气温控制在工业革命前水平的1.5摄氏度以上,而不是2摄氏度,对拯救地球至关重要。换言之,拯救地球刻不容缓,因为地球已向我们发出最后警报了。 有句话说得好:「We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors,we...
